Upon your arrival in Siem Reap, local tour guide greets you at the airport and transfer to hotel for check-in. Your time to relax after long-haul flight.

Overnight in Siem Reap

It’s promisingly a very special and acting day as we are going to explore some of World Heritage Angkor’s most beautiful temples. The West Gate of Angkor Thom, the South Gate, Bayon Temple – unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Baphuon Temple, The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Elephant Terrace, Terrace of the Leper King and Ta Prohm that has been relatively untouched since discovered and retained much of its mystery.

Tonight, enjoy Royal Khmer styled dinner with traditional Apsara dance show.

Overnight in Siem Reap

Reaching to Great Tonle Sap Lake, we embark an traditional wooden boat through the flooded forests to Kampong Phluk, the amazing floating village built on 8-10 meter high stilts. Later along the way to Chreav Commune, Birds Conservation Site, we discover its bio diversities and varieties of birds. Out of the Site, take a chance to experience oxcart riding tour seeing vegetable farm, typical stilt houses, authentic Cambodian living style, learning about Khmer culture, custom and tradition.

We journey northeast to Koh Ker, a 10th century capital abandoned for more than a thousand years. Continue to Preah Vihear, a temple situated atop a 525 meter cliff in the Dangrek Mountains, built by King Suryavaman I to Jayavaman VII dedicating to Lord Shiva. The temple today is still a Hindu site, and Buddhist Monks come pray to the Gods.

Before departing to Ratanakiri, we extend sightseeing in Stung Treng, visiting Phnom Preah Theat, Or Pong Mean, Preah Ko Temple and Tep Nimet water fall if time permit.

We depart early to Banlung market where ethnicities Kroeung, Tompuon, Jarai exchanging their products. Then through the bamboo forests, rubber plantations we arrive at Sai Voeune, located on the left bank of Se San River whilst Chinese village on the other. We ride a boat upstream to Tampoun village tribe that practices funeral statuary with beautiful Totem. In continuity, we come to the tranquil volcanic lake of Yeak Laom sacredly believed originating from a falling meteorite.

It’s a long drive today about 220km to Mondulkiri. En route we spend time at the magnificent sight Bou Sra waterfalls, the dramatic three-stage falls creating a natural and relatively safe swimming pool in dense tropical forests.

Today wild rivers, waterfalls, swimming holes, elephants, wild animals and birds are all waiting for us at Mondulkiri Project. Reassured that we are not allowed to ride the elephants, but to hand feed and follow them as they walk through the protected forest and help washing them in the waterfalls.

We head to Kratie then Kampi, one of the many deep pools where the rare Irrawaddy dolphins gather for feed. We cruise out into the mighty Mekong River for a chance to see these gentle mammals. This experience is not only an encounter with rare creatures, but also a pleasant quiet float along the river. Later in the afternoon, we take a ferry to Koh Trong, an island just across Kratie to enjoy peacefully rural life. A beautiful sunset on the riverside is another memory of the day.

It’s a long drive today about 350km to reach to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. We drive along the shores of the Mekong River via Kampong Cham, visit to Phnom Pros, Phnom Srei, Wat Nokhor and through the small village of Skun that famous for its fried spiders.

We spend the whole day visiting the Royal Palace built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, the Silver Pagoda made up of 5,000 silver tiles, Wat Phnom Temple, a small hill crowned by an active Wat that marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh, Victory Monument, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and National Museum, all the remarkable history and architectures of the city.

Today we drive to Battambang, a tranquil respite with rich architectural heritage and stunning surrounding countryside. We stop for a visit at Oudong Hill, the ancient royal capital during 1618-1866 before reallocating to Phnom Penh nowadays. We also visit to Ondong Rossey, a small village originating famous red pottery. Arrival in Battambang, we continue to the striking hilltop temples and caves of Phnom Sampeau, where millions of bats at dusk come bursting out of the mountain in form of a steady stream towards the countryside.

Overnight in Battambang

We drive along the picturesque Sangker River to Wat Slaket Pagoda, the residence of the provincial Buddhist patriarch, visit a Khmer Ancient House afterwards to Wat Ek Phnom. We also spend time at Provincial Museum and wander through local market where Prahoc, Cambodian fish paste is made. We arrive in Siem Reap in late afternoon, time for relaxation.
